Robert Catherwood Scholarship

Financial Post, Weekly edition, Saturday, November 15, 1997

An endowed scholarship in the name of Robert H. Catherwood, editorial page editor of The Financial Post for more than two decades until his death in June, was established this week. Bob held a strong belief Canadians must have an understanding of the impact of world events on the global community. To this end, he provided FP accreditation to students at the University of Toronto's G7 Research Group to attend Group of Seven economic summits and witness policy in the making. To continue this support, G8 Research Group alumni, family, friends and The Post have established this scholarship. It was announced at a G8 Research Group gathering in Toronto where the guest speaker was Finance Minister Paul Martin. Martin is pictured with Bob's wife, Lynn McDonald, and Prof. John Kirton, director of the research group. Contributions may be made to Trinity College, Catherwood Scholarship, Office of Convocation, 6 Hoskin Ave., Toronto Ont., M5S 1H8. Tax receipts will be issued.
